The 6 students from BPS that travelled to Young Aquatic Centre to compete achieved great results. Michael and Clay gained places, in all the races they competed, in the unaided 25 metre events. The improvement in the boys freestyle technque is commendable.
Frank and Marni put in a big effort in their 50 metre events both qualifying to compete at district level in their 50 metre freestyle, a gutsy effort from these students that had not competed in 50 metre events prior to the carnival.
Dakota and Zoey lead our small team with great commitment to achieving their very best. Dakota has qualified for freestyle and is to be a member of the YSS 50 metre junior relay team at the district carnival. Zoey after winning her Breaststroke and Butterfly events will compete in these 50 metre events at District.
Zoey Hunter was awarded the runner-up medal in the 11 yr girls age division and we are all extremely proud of her efforts. Our school was pipped at the post by Murringo for the handicap trophy, by a very slim 1.5 points. Maybe next year!
Thanks to the Young High School girls who did a great job coming in 2nd in the adult relay, the staff and parents of Bribbaree appreciate your efforts as our elected representatives. Along with BPS past student Maddie Noakes your support to our YSS students was fabulous on the day.
Finally thank you to our families who supported your students at the carnival and thank you to the staff at Quandi Swimming Pool in teaching the children swimming. We look forward to continuing the childrens growth and development in this healthy and life saving skill.
